MSCA4Ukraine: Funding scheme launched to support displaced Ukrainian researchers

30. Sep 2022

On 28 September, the scheme "MSCA4Ukraine" was published together with guidelines for the proposal application on the website of the same name. The MSCA4Ukraine scheme offers Ukrainian researchers the possibility to apply for a fellowship of 6 to 24 months duration, which provides them the opportunity to continue their work at a host institution in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country preparing them to return to Ukraine one day.

Researchers of all career stages (Postdocs and PhD students) with Ukrainian nationality who have been displaced since 24 February 2022, or are ready to be displaced from Ukraine as well as stateless researchers who lived in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted with a host institution in any EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country on behalf of the applicant. The funding amount is based on the units offered by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks or Postdoctoral Fellowships schemes.

The MSCA4Ukraine programme is funded by the MSCA with EUR 25 Mio. and implemented by a consortium consisting of the European University Association (EUA), the Scholars at Risk Europe network and the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

On 6 October, the programme will be officially launched during an online information event. Applications can be submitted from 24 October at three cut-off dates.

The Scholars at Risk Europe office at Maynooth University offers advice on the application process.
