Proposal & Project

Financial management in Marie Curie projects

In terms of project accounting Marie Curie Actions differ considerably from the collaborative research projects of the Framework Programme. Instead of funding quotas Marie Curie projects are increasingly funded by, fixed amounts and flat rates that are organized in several cost categories.

Each cost category is either related to the fellows (salary and specific research activities) or refers to costs of the host institution that occur additionally during the project implementation.

The amount of each flat rate as well as the structure of the cost categories are subject to annual changes that are set in the respective work programme for that year. Over the entire duration of a project, the funded project is bound to the financial regulations of the respective call year’s work programme.
