European Commission: public consultation on Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe

On 1 December 2022, European Commission has launched a large public consultation on the past, present and future of the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation in the years 2014-2027.

The consultation covers three elements:

  • the final evaluation of Horizon 2020 (2014-2020)
  • the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe (2021-2027)
  • the design of the second Strategic Plan for Horizon Europe for 2025-2027

All stakeholders are invited to express their views on the achievements and shortcomings of Horizon 2020 and the implementation of Horizon Europe so far, and to help shape the strategic orientations and priorities for the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027.It is also possible to provide feedback only on individual parts of the survey.

The consultation is open until 23 February 2023. The questions are available in English, German and French. Participants can respond in all EU languages. It takes around 35 minutes to answer the questions; it is also possible to submit more comprehensive position papers on the individual elements.
