Group of Chief Scientific Advisors publishes Scientific opinion on sustainable food systems

The Group of Chief Scientific Advisors which provides the European Commission with independent scientific advice has published a Scientific opinion headed „Towards a Sustainable Food System“. The opinion presents advice on how to deliver an inclusive, fair and timely transition towards a sustainable food system in Europe, which will inform the Commission’s forthcoming Farm to Fork strategy for Sustainable Food.
The report is the eighth Scientific opinion the Group of Advisors has published so far. It is currently working on further publications, including on climate change-related health effects and biodegradable plastics.
The European Commission is currently asking the European scientific community for nomination of candidates for the membership of this Group (each of the 7 members can serve a maximum of 5 years), see KoWi newsletter of 3 April 2020.
