KoWi-Bundestagung zur EU-Forschungs- und Innovationsförderung 2021
Die jährliche KoWi-Bundestagung ist die zentrale Austausch- und Vernetzungsveranstaltung für die mit EU-Forschungsförderung befasste Community in Deutschland. Leider können wir aufgrund der Pandemie die vom 16. bis 18. Juni 2021 in Oldenburg geplante Bundestagung nicht durchführen und werden stattdessen eine Reihe von unterschiedlichen virtuellen Informations- und Vernetzungsveranstaltungen anbieten, um den Erfahrungsaustausch zum Start von Horizon Europe zu unterstützen.
Special funding measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic: Calls for proposals
The European Commission has published details on the calls for expression of interest within the recently launched special COVID-19 funding measures in the Horizon Europe Work Programmes for Research Infrastructure and Health. New EIT initiative on innovation in higher education
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched the "HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education". This new initiative aims to increase the innovation potential of higher education institutions (HEIs). Within this pilot initiative, 23 pilot projects will be selected for funding.
European Commission is looking for Experts
On 24 March 2021, the European Commission published a call for expressions of interest seeking experts for EU programmes in the 2021-2027 programming period.
Publication of new Action Plan for the Development of Organic Production
On 25 March, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski presented a new Action Plan for the development of organic production. The Commissions aims to push organic farming significantly and to increase production as well as consumption of organic products.
Horizon Europe: EIC Work Programme 2021 published
On March 18, 2021, the European Commission has published the first work programme for the European Innovation Council (EIC) in the new EU Framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe.
Horizon Europe: Commission adopts Strategic Plan 2021-2024
On 15 March 2021 the European Commission has adopted the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2021-2024. The Strategic Plan, elaborated since early 2019 on a broad consultation base represents the basis of strategic research policy of the European Union to achieve its objectives and to maximise the impact of the ninth Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe.
Horizon Europe: Commission creates new Executive Agencies
With the Implementing Decision of 12 February 2021 the European Commission has created six new European Executive Agencies. Their tasks are amongst others the administrative implementation of Horizon Europe.
New EU strategy on adaptation to climate change
On 24 February 2021, the European Commission published its communication “Forging a climate-resilient Europe – the new EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change”. The Commission previously announced the new plan of action in its communication on the European Green Deal.
Horizon Europe: Commission proposal to set up new European Partnerships
On 23 Februar 2021 the European Commission published a proposal for a Council Regulation establishing the Joint Undertakings under Horizon Europe.
MSCA-COFUND and MSCA-IF 2020 results published
On 4 February 2021, the European Commission announced the successful applicants of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Call 2020. COFUND-projects from 11 Member States, three Associated States and the United Kingdom are financially supported with a total of EUR 100 million.
EIT Strategy 2021-2027 agreed
On 29 January 2021, a political agreement was reached between the European Parliament and EU Member States on the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) legal basis and its new Strategic Innovation Agenda 2021-2027.
European Commission launches “New European Bauhaus” initiative
On 18 January, the European Commission has launched its "European Bauhaus" initiative.
The "European Bauhaus" was first announced by Commission President Dr Ursula von der Leyen in her State of the Union address in September 2020. This initiative is an interdisciplinary project, aiming to combine design, science and technology and contributing to the implementation of the European Green Deal.
