PPP European Green Vehicles Initiative (EGVI)
The overall aim of the initiative "European Green Vehicles Initiative" – with a focus on electric mobility and road transport – is the funding of research and development of key technologies and developments in the following fields: the utilization of renewable and environmental-friendly energy sources, security and transport planning.
The PPP should contribute to improvements in energy efficiency of road transport vehicles and the use of new types of non-conventional energies into road transport such as electricity, CNG and LNG, renewable and tailored fuels.
Mostly, the PPP will be implemented under the Societal Challenge "Smart, green and integrated transport". However, the relevant calls will take into account other parts oft he Challenge, in particular the calls under "Mobility for growth" and "Smart cities and communities" as well as calls of the "JU Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2". There are cross-cutting issues to the Societal Challenges in the areas of energy and environment as well as to "Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials and Advanced Manufacturing and Processing" (NMP) under "Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies" (LEIT).
Industry partners of the PPP are represented in the European Technology Platforms ERTRAC, EPoSS und SmartGrids. These three Technology Platforms join forces in the "European Green Vehicles Initiative Association (EGVIA)". EGVIA is composed of 64 members from industry, research and associated organisations.
