Cluster "Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment" 2023-2024


The Work Programme 2023-2024 of the cluster “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment“ has a budget of EUR 1960,29 million for the two-year period.

The calls of the work programme are assigned to the seven thematic priorities ("destinations") defined in the Strategic Plan, each of which contains several calls which in turn contain the individual topics.

Destination 1 Biodiversity and ecosystem services (budget: EUR 326 million)

  • One call in 2023 and two calls in 2024

Destination 2Fair, healthy and environment-friendly food systems from primary production to consumption (budget:  EUR 453 million)

  • One call in 2023 and two calls in 2024   

Destination 3Circular economy and bioeconomy sectors (budget: ca. EUR 326 million)

  • Two calls in 2023 and 2024 each

Destination 4Clean environment and zero pollution (budget: ca. EUR 140.5  million)

  • Two calls in 2023 and 2024 each

Destination 5Land, ocean and water for climate action (budget: ca. EUR 183 million)

  • One call in 2023 and 2024 each

Destination 6Resilient, inclusive, healthy and green rural, coastal and urban communities (budget: ca. EUR 75.5 million)

  • One call in 2023 and two calls in 2024

Destination 7Innovative governance, environmental observations and digital solutions in support of the Green Deal (budget: ca. EUR 287,5 million)

  • One call in 2023 and 2024 each

Depending on the call, single or two-stage application procedures are foreseen. The opening and closing dates of the calls are as follows:
Calls 2023:

  • opening 22 December 2022, deadline depending on the call 23 March, 28 March or 12 April 2023
  •  2nd deadline for two-stage procedures 26 September 2023

Calls 2024:

  • opening 17 October 2023, deadline depending on the call 21 February, 22 February or 28 February 2024
  • 2nd deadline for two-stage procedures 17 September 2024

The application needs to be submitted via the Funding & Tenders Portal and requires prior registration.
