Background

"European Innovation Partnerships" (EIPs) have a certain impact on the development of research topics in the framework programme. The European Innovation Partnership on Water, for example, had a major influence on the focus "water innovation" in the work programme 2014/15.

The participation in EIPs allows for a strategic networking with all actors along the value chain.

Selection of relevant networks, which propose strategic research agendas:

• European Innovation Partnership on Water
• European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials
• European Water Platform (WssTP)
• Public Private Partnership on Sustainable Process Industries (SPIRE)

National Research Funding

The Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) are funding cooperative research in topics like sustainability, protection of the climate and adaptation, environment and economy, resource efficiency, waste management, ecological production policies, groundwater, water, soil, and maritime protection.
