Research Infrastructures 2021-2022

The 2021-2022 work programme "Research Infrastructures" includes calls for proposals totalling approximately EUR 608 million over its two-year term.

The Work Programme contains five funding themes (destinations), each of which is subordinated to several calls with the individual call topics.

Below you will find the five destinations and the corresponding calls contained in the 2021-2022 work programme:

Destination 1 – Developing, consolidating and optimising the European research infrastructures landscape, maintaining global leadership (INFRADEV, budget 2021: EUR 41,3 mil.; 2022: EUR 31,8 mil.)

Destination 2 – Enabling an operational, open and FAIR EOSC ecosystem (INFRAEOSC, budget 2021: EUR 59 mil.; 2022: EUR 30 mil.)

Destination 3 – Research Infrastructure services to support health research, accelerate the green and digital transformation, and advance frontier knowledge (INFRASERV, budget 2021: EUR 112 mil.; 2022: EUR 48,3 mil.)

  • Call - Research Infrastructure services to support health research, accelerate the green and digital transformation, and advance frontier knowledge (2021)
  • Call - Research infrastructure services to support health research and accelerate the digital transformation (2022)

Destination 4 – Next generation of scientific instrumentation, tools and methods and advanced digital solutions (INFRATECH, budget 2021: EUR 28 mil.; 2022: EUR 118 mil.)

  • Calls - Next generation of scientific instrumentation, tools and methods (2021/2022)

Destination 5 – Network connectivity in Research and Education - Enabling collaboration without boundaries (INFRANET)

  • Call - Network connectivity in Research and Education - Enabling collaboration without boundaries (2021), containing a single topic for a Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) for Research and Education Networks

Calls for proposals in this funding area will exclusively use the single-stage application procedure. The dates for the opening and closing of the individual calls are as follows:

  • Calls 2021: Opening 22 June 2021, deadline 23 September 2021
  • Calls 2022: Opening 19 January 2022, deadline 20 April 2022

With the following exceptions:

  • Call HORIZON-INFRA-2021-DEV-02: Opening 30 September 2021, deadline 20 January 2022
  • Call HORIZON-INFRA-2022-SERV-01: Opening 1 June 2021, deadline 21 September 2021
  • Call HORIZON-INFRA-2021-NET-01: Opening 1 June 2021, deadline 2 September 2021

Some specific conditions apply to individual topics, which you will find in the box under the respective topic title.

Applications must be submitted via the Funding & Tenders Portal and require prior registration.
