Horizon 2020 Structure

The Horizon 2020 budget including the Joint Research Council (JRC) and the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) is distributed as follows:

Originally, a total of EUR 77 bn had been foreseen for Horizon 2020, but EUR 2.2 bn were redistributed in 2015 to serve the newly established European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI).

Euratom, which has not been incorporated in the overview above, will additionally receive up to EUR 2.4 bn until 2020.

The accompanying funding measures are basically designed as Private Public Partnerships (P2B) or Public Public Partnerships (P2P); as the bulk of the funding is provided by industry and EU Member States, long-term reliable numbers concerning the budgets can’t be given.
