Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023-2024

The European Commission has published the main work programme 2023/2024 of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe on 6 December 2022. The publication covers the following funding lines:
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
- Research Infrastructures
- the six thematic Clusters
- EU Missions
- European Innovation Ecosystems
- Widening participation and strengthening the ERA
- European Innovation Council (EIC)
The European Research Council (ERC) work programme for 2023 was already published in July this year. The ERC Work Programme 2024 is expected in summer 2023.
For 2023/2024, for the first time, a larger share of the topics in the thematic clusters will also be advertised with lump-sum funding. For these calls for proposals, special conditions apply, including a higher page limit for the proposals.
In some calls for proposals in Clusters 1, 4 and 6, the "blind evaluation pilot" is implemented as part of a two-stage application procedure. Applicants submitting a pre-proposal for the topics marked in this way are not allowed to include the names, acronyms, logos, etc. of their institutions or names of persons involved in the proposal in part B. Details on the pilot can be found in the General Annexes to the work programme (parts E and F).
The first calls for proposals of the work programme will already open in December 2022. More detailed information on the contents can be found in the second part of this newsletter under "Calls for proposals".
In the period from 6 December 2022 to 19 January 2023, the European Commission will offer online information events on the upcoming calls for proposals in the individual parts of the programme. Further information is available on this website.
