Urban Mobility Days 2022 and European Mobility Week 2022

05. Aug 2022

From 20 to 22 September 2022, the European Commission will organise the conference Urban Mobility Days 2022 together with the current Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. Taking place in Brno (Czech Republic) as well as online, the event will address the question how to make the passenger and freight transport sectors more sustainable, particularly in urban settings.

During the three-day event, experts from science will network with practitioners from urban transport and urban planning or with decision-makers from politics, local authorities and non-governmental organizations.

Under the title: "Funding and financing climate-neutral and energy-efficient urban mobility", one of the agenda items is dedicated to the various EU funding instruments, programmes and initiatives to support research and innovation in this area. A combination of public and private funding opportunities will also be examined aiming at a better implementation of policy priorities, such as those set out in the "Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy", the "New Urban Mobility Framework", the "Fit for 55 Strategy" or the "Climate-neutral and Smart Cities Mission".

The registration for the conference is already open.

In parallel to the Urban Mobility Days 2022, the European Commission will also organise the annual European Mobility Week with the theme "Better connections". From 16 to 22 September 2022 this brings together activities of sustainable mobility initiatives in more than 3000 cities from 50 countries, also outside Europe.
