Co-operation between Academia and Industry
Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways
This scheme seeks to foster dynamic partnerships between public research organisations and private commercial enterprises. Universities, research organisations and companies can apply for an exchange and transfer of knowledge programme between academia and private, commercial enterprises covering 3 to 4 years.
Requirements
The cooperation has to include at least 2 organisations, one from each sector (industry - academia) and from at least two different EU Member States or Associated Countries.
The core idea of the programme consists of a staff exchange programme for PhD students (early stage researcher), postdocs (experienced researcher) as well as technical or managerial staff. The duration of the exchange may be from 2 months up to 2 years. During this time the exchanged staff is supposed to acquire or pass on knowledge concerning the common research project at the partner institution and - after the end of the exchange - return to its home institution for at least one year to implement the knowledge gained.
In order to take part, staff members must have been active continuously for at least 1 year (full time) at the sending institution. Optionally, a limited number of experienced researchers from outside the partnership may be recruited for a duration of 12 to 24 months. However, they must be nationals of a country other than the country of the premises of the host institution in which they will carry out the project. The European Commission finances the salaries of the seconded staff, networking and management costs as well as indirect costs of institutions.

Applications for this scheme can only be submitted via the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS) following yearly Call for Proposals.
