The Specific Programme "Cooperation"

Funded with €32.413 bn - two thirds of the FP7-budget - the Specific Programme "Cooperation" concentrates ‎on funding all research activities of international and trans-national cooperation. Therefore, "Cooperation" covers a whole range of activities, such as collaborative projects, network ‎activities as a matter of coordination as well as research collaborations between EU states and ‎third countries. Furthermore, the activities should be carried out under the norm of sustainable ‎development.

Cross-cutting through all research themes, the following activities will support trans-national cooperation:‎

  • Collaborative Research
  • Joint Technology Initiatives
  • Coordination of research programmes
  • International cooperation (with third countries)

The Thematic Priorities:

Cooperation is subdivided into research themes, the so called "Thematic Priorities". The themes ‎have been extended by security research, socio-economic sciences and the humanities.

  2. Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology (1.935 bn)
  3. Information and Communication Technologies (9.05 bn)
  4. Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies (3.475 bn)
  5. Energy (2.35 bn)
  6. Environment (including Climate Change) (1.89 bn)
  7. Transport (including Aeronautics) (4.16 bn)
  8. Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (0.623 bn)
  9. Space (1.43 bn)
  10. Security (1.4 bn)
