Extension of the pilot action to fund FP7 post-grant publications

18. May 2017

In order to fund Open Access publications arising from finalized FP7 projects, the "OpenAIRE2020" project (financed by the European Commission) has developed the EC FP7 post-grant Gold Open Access Pilot. Its aim is to improve the access to research results from FP7 projects.
Funding can be requested for OA Article Processing Charges (APCs) arising from finished FP7 projects up to two years after they end. Only publications that are invoiced after the end of the project are eligible for funding and only a maximum of three peer-reviewed publications per FP7 project will be funded.
The pilot will run until the funding of four million Euros is exhausted, originally until the end of April 2017. OpenAIRE has now been requested by the European Commission to extend this pilot until February 28th, 2018.
The detailed conditions for participation are described in the pilot guidelines.
