The call for the Advanced Grants 2012 of the European Research Council (ERC) for the funding of established outstanding scientists has been published today. For this call, a budget of around EUR 670 million is available.

The application deadlines are staggered according to the following domains:

• Physical Sciences & Engineering: February 16, 2012, 5 p.m. (Brussels local time)
• Life Sciences: March 14, 2012, 5 p.m. (Brussels local time)
• Social Sciences & Humanities: April 11, 2012, 5 p.m. (Brussels local time)
