Collaborative Research
The Specific Programme "Cooperation"‎

With a budget of EUR 32.413 billion - two thirds of FP 7 - the Specific Programme "Cooperation" concentrates ‎on funding all research activities of international and trans-national cooperation. Therefore, "Cooperation" covers a whole range of activities, such as collaborative projects, network ‎activities as a matter of coordination as well as research collaborations between EU states and ‎third countries. Furthermore, the activities should be carried out under the norm of sustainable ‎development.

Cross-cutting through all research themes, the following activities will support trans-national cooperation:‎

  • Collaborative Research
  • Joint Technology Initiatives
  • Coordination of research programmes
  • International cooperation (with third countries)

Funded Themes

Cooperation is subdivided into 10 research Themes:

    1. Health (EUR 6.1 billion)
    2. Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology/KBBE (EUR 1.9 billion)
    3. Information and Communication Technologies/ICT (EUR 9.1 billion)
    4. Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies/NMP (EUR 3.5 billion)
    5. Energy (EUR 2.4 billion)
    6. Environment (including Climate Change) (EUR 1.9 billion)
    7. Transport (including Aeronautics) (EUR 4.2 billion)
    8. Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities/SSH (EUR 0.6 billion)
    9. Space (EUR 1.4 billion)
    10. Security (EUR 1.4 billion)#

KoWi services Cooperation

KoWi will advise you individually throughout the project cycle - by phone, in person or via e-mail/Skype. Review of complete proposals, and - after approval - advising on the contract negotiations and on financial and project management are part of the services of the Cooperation team.
