Marie Curie Individual Fellowships

Marie Curie Individual Fellowships provide funding for researchers with a research project on their own at a host institution in another European country or Third Country. Researchers from Third Countries have the opportunity to apply for an Incoming Fellowship at a host institution in Europe.

Precondition for writing an application for a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship is either a doctoral degree or a research experience of at least 4 years (full time equivalent) after graduation from university. In order to submit a proposal, the applicant has to choose a research host institution (university, research centres, SME, etc.) at which she/he will carry out the project if funded by the European Commission. The topic of the project can also be chosen freely by the researcher.

Applications for this scheme can only be submitted to the European Commission via the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS) following yearly calls for proposals. Proposals must be submitted in liaison with a host institution (universities, research centres, international organisation, SME, etc.).

6th Framework Programme: besides the Individual Fellowships there are still vacancies for postdocs in FP6 Marie Curie projects (Research Training Networks, Host Fellowships for Early Stage Training).
