Proposals submitted for a Proof of Concept funding are evaluated by independent experts in an international peer-review process.
Peer reviewers will evaluate independently each proposal on the following criteria:
- Innovation potential of the idea
- Quality of the proof of concept plan
- Budget
The evaluation will be carried out on a "pass/fail" basis on each of the 3 criteria. In order to be considered for funding, proposals will have to be awarded a pass mark by a majority of evaluators on each of the three criteria.
If there is not enough budget to fund all proposals which pass all criteria, those which pass all three criteria, will be ranked according to the number of pass marks. Proposals will be funded in order of this ranking.
If there are several proposal which have the same number of pass marks, the peer reviewers will meet as an evaluation panel to determine a priority order for those proposals.
During the evaluation process the submitted Budget will be assessed. The actual level of funding will be determined by the evaluators based on this assessment. The maximum financial contribution will be up to 150,000 EUR for a period of 12 months.
